National Express under attack

The board of National Express, the embattled bus and train operator, came under further pressure on Friday when its largest shareholder launched the most scathing attack yet on the company.

The Cosmen family, which owns 19 per cent of National Express, said it was concerned the board lacked a “well-defined strategy’’ and had too quickly dismissed a merger proposal with rival Stagecoach.
