Argentina’s ruling Peronist party is in danger of fracturing as a result of splits opened up by a four-month conflict with farmers over export tariffs, some of its members believe.

Farm leaders opposed to the sliding scale of tariffs held a rally on Tuesday that drew an estimated 200,000 people, while 90,000 government supporters held a rival protest outside Congress.
