Mayan Riviera learns lessons

Jimena Azevedo has seen many changes since she first came to work in Playa del Carmen on Mexico's Caribbean coast four years ago.

"Many of the roads weren't even paved, you could leave your doors open and go everywhere by bicycle," says the 33-year-old hotel worker. "Now there is traffic all over the place. Things are far less informal."
