Republicans promise detailed agenda in Bush speech

The Republicans yesterday began the build-up to President George W. Bush's address to their national convention, promising a detailed outline of a second-term agenda expected to tackle social security reform and tax.

Mr Bush has retreated to his ranch in Crawford, Texas, to work on a speech intended to pivot from his record in office to the so-far closely held specifics of what he would do with another four years in the White House.
