Blacklists will be swamped by domain name explosion

It has long been recognised that web malware development has evolved from being an intellectual exercise to a financially motivated enterprise, with targeted attacks being launched on individuals and company websites. Securing the web gateway is now the priority for businesses because that’s where the majority of the viral infections come into their network.

We have found that the most prolific spammers have moved away from pharmaceuticals to peddling counterfeit products, which are traditionally within the realm of organised crime.
