California gay-marriage vote too close to call

When Californians go to the polls on Tuesday there will be much more at stake than choosing a new president.

Voters in the most populous US state will be asked to approve or reject a range of ballot measures including a contentious constitutional amendment that would ban gay marriage and a move to outlaw the use of small cages in battery farming.
