Russian Standard Bank stops cash loans

Russia’s leading consumer lender Russian Standard Bank has stopped issuing cash loans to customers, as refinancing costs soar due to the global credit crunch.

The bank said yesterday the halt to lending in cash applied until the end of the month and was due to a planned review of lending procedures to concentrate on core businesses.
