Prosecution rests its case in Black trial

Conrad Black got a piece of unexpected good news on Wednesday when prosecutors dropped one money-laundering charge against the former media mogul.

The announcement was made just moments before government prosecutors, led by assistant US attorney Eric Sussman, rested its case against the former Hollinger chairman and three other executives charged with stealing $60m (£30m) from the newspaper company.
