Rose denies fallout over plan to stay at M&S

Sir Stuart Rose denied on Wednesday that his plan to remain as chairman of Marks and Spencer after the recruitment of a new chief executive was deterring candidates for the job and said that he was fully supported by the board.

Speaking to the Financial Times, Sir Stuart, who has infuriated some shareholders by combining the roles for more than a year, said that it was in the best interests of the company for him to remain for up to two years more.
