Northern Rock fall sees outflow of savings

The UK banking sector and, indeed, the reputation of London as a financial centre has taken a battering since the Northern Rock crisis broke in September.

But the crisis has not been all bad news for the big UK banks and building societies. Many have seen large inflows of savings from former customers of Northern Rock.
