Late Easter sweetens Thorntons’ expectations

Thrifty Valentine’s Day lovers and a late Easter helped Thorntons reverse previous sales declines, leading the chocolate retailer to forecast full-year profits above market expectations.

The purveyor of truffles and personalised hampers said pre-tax profits would be no less than £5m ($7.2m) for the full year to June.
