British PM brings old foe back in reshuffle

Gordon Brown, Britain's prime minister, took one of the biggest gambles of his political life yesterday as he brought his old enemy Peter Mandelson back into the cab-inet as business secretary.

Both men were architects of the Labour party's "New Labour" project, which propelled Tony Blair to power in 1997, but their personal relationship has been marked over the years by mutual distrust.
