Nokia set to replace up to46m Matsushita batteries

Nokia, the world's largest mobile phone maker, is to replace up to 46m batteries in its handsets after components supplied by Matsushita, the Japanese company, were found to overheat.

The move undermines Nokia's cherished brand but will not have any noticeable effect on forecast profitability as Matsushita is expected to pay all the costs involved.
