EU threatens to step up Zimbabwe sanctions

The European Union threatened on Monday to step up sanctions against Zimbabwe unless President Robert Mugabe adhered to the terms of a power-sharing accord.

”If the agreement is not applied we shall resume our sanctions and reinforce them,” Bernard Kouchner, foreign minister of EU president France, told a news conference.
