Perhaps there is a little voyeur in all of us. Take the concept of a telescope and adapt it specifically for terrestrial use and you have a “spotter scope”. Take a spotter scope and add a built-in digital camera and you have Celestron’s VistaPix Imaging Spotter (IS70).

A spotting scope is basically a telescope with a large objective (front) lens which produces a bright upright image with great clarity and detail. Spotter scopes are, therefore, particularly popular with nature- and birdwatchers.
