Drawdown investors face shrink in income

Pension investors who have chosen not to purchase an annuity could face a sharp drop in their monthly income, which may not be reversed for five years, as a result of recent stock market falls.

Some members of income drawdown schemes, which allow underlying funds to remain invested in retirement, have already had hundreds of pounds shaved off their monthly pension payments as their fund values have plunged.
