Liquefied natural gas: ‘Expect prices to go up and down’

On May 12, Europe’s biggest liquefied natural gas terminal was inaugurated with all the fanfare appropriate to one of the world’s biggest energy projects.

The South Hook facility at the tip of south-west Wales is a remarkable place: with five vast LNG storage tanks, each bigger than London’s Albert Hall, it can supply a fifth of the UK’s annual gas consumption.
