Sweden rules out taking over carmakers

The Swedish government will not nationalise Saab and Volvo, Maud Olofsson, industry minister, said on Wednesday.

General Motors, which owns Saab, and Ford Motor, which owns Volvo, this week said they were considering their options for the brands, including selling them.
