Public to be quizzed on genetic research

Britain’s Academy of Medical Sciences launched a study on Tuesday into the acceptable boundaries of research in which human genes or cells are put into animals.

“This area of science has had very little public discussion, though it has been scientifically very important and has led to some important medical advan­ces,” said Martin Bobrow, the Cambridge University professor of medical genetics who is leading the study.
