Investors seek to block APN takeover

Institutional shareholders have threatened to derail a takeover bid by Sir Anthony O’Reilly’s Independent News & Media for Australia’s APN News and Media.

IN&M, which already owns 42 per cent of APN, has teamed up with Carlyle and Providence Equity Partners, the private equity firms, to try to secure control of APN.
