Emissions trade prices drop again

Prices for polluting under the European Union's emissions trading scheme suffered another heavy fall yesterday, helping trigger a slide in European power prices and utility share prices.

C02 emission futures for December 2006 delivery fell to a record low of €14 a tonne on the European Climate Exchange.
