Proposed EU budget cuts raise fears

Across Poland, Hungary and the six other eastern European countries that joined the European Union last year, local and national politicians are anxiously watching the EU’s budget plans and negotiations.

Monika Szymanska, an official at the regional development authority in Rzeszow, south-eastern Poland, fears for the proposed A4 highway across southern Poland from Germany to Ukraine.
