BAE targets homeland security via Detica deal

BAE Systems has made its first significant foray into the homeland security arena with the £531m purchase of Detica, a specialist provider of security technology.

Britain’s biggest defence contractor is paying 440p a share cash for Detica, which supplies security-related software and IT services to the government and a range of other corporate and government clients.
