Change Capital tastes ‘fantastic vintage’ for deals

After seven months fighting to save Change Capital Partners’ investment in Robert Dyas and stop the hardware chain going into administration, Roger Holmes was consoling himself that he at least achieved the latter.

The former chief executive of Marks and Spencer and Kingfisher director, who runs Change Capital with fellow retail veteran Luc Vandevelde, admitted that losing its £30m stake in Robert Dyas – its first deal – was “a sad day” for the private equity firm.
