Tens of thousands of people have taken to the streets of Bangkok to watch the cremation rites of the king's sister at a traditional ceremony.

Princess Galyani, who died in January, was formally known as Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana Krom Luang Naradhiwas Rajanagarindra, although she was registered simply as May on her birth certificate when she was born in London in 1932.
