Squeezed by recession and fed up with poisonous politics, Ukrainian voters are desperate for a leader to rekindle the lost optimism of the Orange Revolution.

If recent polls are right, an increasing number of them see 34-year-old Arseniy Yatseniuk as an alternative to three leaders whose mud-slinging power struggle has dominated Kiev's politics since 2004.
