The BBC is to recruit up to 1,000 staff as part of its move to Salford in a development Sir Michael Lyons, BBC Trust chairman, said will change the broadcaster’s “DNA”.
About 46 per cent of the 1,700 London-based staff involved have agreed to move with their jobs to the BBC North site, which will also house the existing 800 Manchester-based employees, the broadcaster said on Wednesday.
