Economy: Committed to diversification

In terms of the rate of economic growth they generate, the 80,000 people of the Isle of Man are almost up there with China – which adds to its population the same number of people every two days.

Allan Bell, the island’s treasury minister, says that growth should reach 8 per cent in 2007-08 in real terms, an acceleration from the 5.6 per cent real growth of 2005-06.
