Leaders turn blind eye at crisis summit

You could call it the censorship summit. European Union leaders gathered in Brussels yesterday as the biggest crisis to hit the EU for years still raged. Their response? To say as little as possible.

Sensitive topics have been shoved off the agenda and excised from the formal summit communiqué. The banned agenda items range from plans for further EU enlargement to the content of the European constitution that was voted down in France and the Netherlands.
