Opel trust chief puts pressure on GM

The head of the German trust overseeing General Motors’ Opel operations called for a quick decision from the Detroit carmaker on whether to proceed with its sale to Magna International after the European Union’s competition watchdog questioned the validity of the state aid needed to finance it.

Fritz Henderson, GM’s chief executive, said on Monday that GM still hoped to close the sale to Magna and Russia’s Sberbank agreed last month by the end of this week.
