Iran defies warning on uranium activity

The international crisis over Iran's nuclear programme escalated on Monday night after the Islamic republic defied warnings from the US and Europe and restarted uranium conversion activity.

Iran's resumption of work at its Isfahan facility, witnessed by inspectors and journalists, is to be discussed on Tuesday at an extraordinary board meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
