Thailand charges two over rumours about king’s health

Thai authorities have charged two people with allegedly spreading rumours about the health of the king that sent the stock market tumbling in October.

The stock market plunged by more than seven per cent over October 14 and 15 following unfounded internet rumours that King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the revered monarch who has been hospitalised since September 19, had taken a turn for the worse.
