UK broadband pioneer impresses Brussels

A pioneering council-backed network that has given rural businesses and communities cheap broadband access is to become a model for improving the countryside economy across Europe.

NYnet, a private company set up by North Yorkshire county council (NYCC), is to be showcased on Wednesday at a European Commission conference and given money to allow it to be replicated in other remote areas.
