MoD rapped for poor procurement

Ministers have presided over a £16bn “fiasco” in procurement that wasted resources, left industry in limbo and cast doubt on the future strength of the army, according to MPs.

In a highly critical report to be published on Thursday on Britain’s attempts to equip its armed forces, the Commons defence committee lambasts the project to build a new generation of army fighting vehicles as “poorly conceived and managed from the outset”.
