Slovenia in swing to centre-left

Slovenia’s centre-left party looked set to form the country’s new government on Monday following the defeat of the centre-right coalition in Sunday’s general election.

The Social Democrats, led by Borut Pahor, won 29 seats in the 90-seat parliament. The party is expected to explore the possibility of a coalition with the Liberal Democrats and the Pensioners’ party, two other centre-left formations.
