Ralph de la Vega, chief executive of AT&T’s mobile unit, has been given additional responsibility for the US telecommunications giant’s consumer fixed-line operations.
Mr de la Vega’s expanded role was announced internally as part of a management reorganisation designed in part to make it easier for AT&T to co-ordinate its consumer fixed-line and mobile operations and sharpen its competitive response to the threat posed by cable TV operators.
