Asian growth supports Standard Chartered

Fast-rebounding Asian economies have buoyed business at Standard Chartered, the bank said on Thursday, with credit quality remaining strong and low levels of impairments in both wholesale and consumer banking.

However, the company warned that the attractive markets it operated in were drawing in local and international competitors and narrowing spreads.
