Hedge fund guide urges openness

The Managed Funds Association on Tuesday published its latest “sound practices” guide for hedge fund managers, including new recommendations on trading controls, risk management, disclosure to investors and the valuation of complex financial products.

The new guidelines from the MFA, a hedge fund industry association, follow an influential Wall Street-led report last week that urged hedge funds and other financial market participants to upgrade their trade processing and risk management systems and tell counterparties more about their trading positions.
