High profit margins that make a risky game worthwhile

Efforts by Sony, the Japanese electronics giant, to stop stores from selling an imported version of its eagerly awaited PlayStation Portable appear to be paying off, with many shops pulling the hand-held console off of their shelves.

"We were selling it last week," said a salesman from Gultronics, an electronic goods store in London. "But we stopped after Sony wrote us a letter threatening to take us to court."
