The Turkish lira and Hungarian forint have dropped sharply in the last week and both are expected to fall further in the short term, Neil Shearing, emerging Europe economist at Capital Economics, says.

But while the forint could start to strengthen by the second half of the year, there are good reasons to expect the lira’s fall to be deeper and more protracted.
