Chi-X in Asia-Pacific push

Chi-X, the equities trading platform that has quickly established a foothold in Europe, expects to start operating in Australia early next year and is negotiating to enter several other big Asia-Pacific markets.

Tony Mackay, chief executive of Chi-X Global, said he hoped to start operations in Australia in the first quarter of 2009, once the authorities had approved its application for a market operators’ licence.
