888 targets France and Italy

888 Holdings will seek a licence from France when a regulated online gambling market opens up and make a major push into Italy’s expanding market, according to Gigi Levy, the casino and poker operator’s chief executive.

The French market is expected to be one of the major battlegrounds for the industry in 2010 as the government there passes into law legislating online gambling, possibly in time for the start of the football World Cup.
