University of Maryland: School for sergeants embraces the web

Over the course of its 60-year-history, University of Maryland University College has evolved from a small regional school targeted at former military service members to one of the world’s largest virtual universities with an enrolment of more than 90,000.

The school, which offers both on-site and online instruction, is expanding the degree programmes on offer, teaming up with institutions overseas, and improving the technology of its web-based curriculum.
