Investment climate: Rising opportunities push risks into the background

Corruption and red tape are still the barriers to doing business in Russia most often mentioned by foreign investors. But in many respects the investment climate is improving – and the huge opportunities are making more and more companies look beyond the risks.

The Yukos case – the legal assault on Russia’s largest oil company that began in 2003 – has receded in investors’ memories and not been repeated, at least by anything of a similar kind.
