Taiwan faces Beijing’s wrath over Dalai Lama visit

China said on Thursday that it “resolutely opposes” a proposed visit of the Dalai Lama to Taiwan “in whatever form and capacity”.

Ma Ying-jeou, Taiwan’s president, had earlier approved a visit by the Dalai Lama next week at the invitation of opposition politicians.
