S&P downgrades Turkey’s credit rating

Turkey could face increasing difficulty meeting its external financing needs unless it secures support from official creditors, according to research by Standand & Poors.

The ratings agency revised its sovereign credit outlook on the republic from stable to negative on Thursday night, citing worries over the high cost of external financing for Turkish private companies with heavy external borrowings.
