Shanks is one of Europe’s largest independent waste management companies with operations in the UK, Belgium and the Netherlands.

The company’s services include collection, recycling and remediation and last year Shanks reported interim profits of £23m on turnover of £271m. Over 90 per cent of earnings are derived on the Continent.
