Argentine farmers strike for support

Argentine farmers will halt grain and cattle sales in a six-day protest from tomorrow to demand lower export tariffs and more help for producers facing the worst drought in 100 years.

Food producer group the Rural Society said falling commodities prices mean that the current tariffs of 35 per cent make production unprofitable.
