Staple finance shortfall for Reed Business

Bidders in the auction of Reed Business Information are re-examining their calculations after discovering a shortfall in the staple financing they were offered by the publisher to complete the deal.

Reed Elsevier originally offered a multi-faceted staple finance package, of $1.26bn (£685m) in three separate packages and on slightly different terms, from a consortium of seven banks led by UBS.
