Kenya’s political leaders ended six weeks of haggling on Sunday by naming a new coalition cabinet, but the opposition emerged with just a handful of the most powerful posts in a sign it had offered big concessions to President Mwai Kibaki.
Mr Kibaki, who claimed victory in December’s disputed election, announced the membership of the 40-minister cabinet at State House alongside Raila Odinga, the opposition leader and prime minister.
